Associate Solution Architect - Contract
Salary: $140 – $170 per hour
Collada is a boutique architecture partner. We support organisations through big, complex change. We work alongside leaders and delivery teams to uplift architecture capability and help make transformation actually happen (not just look good on paper). We engage our architects on an associate basis, we are in a period of strong growth with demand for architects coming from across the corporate and public sector.
We have seen demand for architects spike over the last couple of months, primarily in the government sector, but we are now seeing things start to pick up in Auckland, which means we are now in a position to engage with new associates for 6-9 month engagements on a number of change programmes starting in the coming three months. We need capability across digital, application, integration, infrastructure, security, data and cloud architecture.
Role: Solution Architect (Contract)
Location: Auckland (Central, North Shore, South Auckland) - We also have work coming up that can likely be done from anywhere in NZ (not fully confirmed though)
Start Date: September / October 2026
Contract Length: 6-9 month initial engagements (depending on client)
Rate: $140 - $170ph (again depending on client)
Typical engagements include:
Major platform or application modernisation programmes
Core system replacement or decoupling (monolith)
Integration-heavy ecosystems (SaaS, vendors, legacy, partners)
Data platform foundations and analytics enablement
Cloud migration or cloud optimisation programmes
Identity, security, and non-functional uplift alongside delivery
A Collada Associate Will Be:
Build trust with the stakeholders that to help demonstrate that the architecture team understood their business domain
You will provide a transparent level of objectivity in the evaluation of alternative options.
We have a mentoring approach so you will also upskill the internal team so that they can now go forward and build out critical models on their own.
If you have already spoken with us, we do have you on our list, but with the amount of work upcoming across the board, we think it's prudent to expand our network as much as possible.
