Associate Solutions Architect
Summary
Supports design and development of data/technology solutions for federal health data modernization, translating mission needs into technical requirements, documenting systems, and working with cloud/on-prem environments. Core technologies include cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Oracle), APIs, data pipelines, and enterprise architecture.
This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for an Associate Solutions Architect based in the United States.
This is an entry-level opportunity to contribute to a mission-critical federal health data modernization initiative.
You’ll work alongside architects, engineers, technical leads, and customer stakeholders to design and support modern technology solutions.
The role provides exposure to cloud, on-premises, data, APIs, integration patterns, and enterprise architecture across complex environments.
You’ll help translate mission needs into technical requirements, documentation, diagrams, and practical solution designs.
This position is well suited to an early-career professional eager to build broad technical expertise while learning from experienced technology leaders.
You’ll also engage with customers and multidisciplinary teams, developing the communication and problem-solving skills needed for a successful architecture career.
The work directly supports secure, scalable technology capabilities within the federal health ecosystem.
Accountabilities:
- Support the design and development of data and technology solutions across cloud, on-premises, and government-hosted environments.
- Collaborate with architects and engineers to understand mission requirements and translate them into clear technical requirements and solution designs.
- Document existing systems, data flows, integrations, constraints, dependencies, and opportunities for modernization.
- Create and maintain architecture diagrams, interface documentation, technical decision records, and other solution materials.
- Research technologies, architecture approaches, and technical solutions, summarizing their benefits, risks, limitations, and tradeoffs.
- Learn and apply established reference architectures, integration patterns, technical standards, and engineering practices.
- Participate in technical discovery sessions, architecture discussions, demonstrations, and customer meetings.
- Work closely with data engineers and technical leads to address technical questions and ensure implementation remains aligned with solution designs.
- Communicate technical concepts, recommendations, questions, and project progress clearly to both technical and nontechnical stakeholders.
- Build trusted relationships with customers and internal teams by demonstrating curiosity, reliability, professionalism, and a strong commitment to mission outcomes.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, Data Science, or another related technical discipline.
- 0–3 years of relevant professional experience, including experience gained through internships, academic projects, research, military service, or personal technical projects.
- Foundational understanding of software, data, cloud, systems, or application architecture concepts.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain technical concepts clearly and ask thoughtful questions.
- Demonstrated ability and willingness to learn new technologies, tools, technical domains, and concepts.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with careful attention to detail.
- Ability to organize complex technical information and produce clear, accurate documentation.
- Ability to collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary teams, receive feedback, and contribute constructively.
- Self-motivated approach to investigating unfamiliar problems, seeking guidance when appropriate, and following assignments through to completion.
- Professional communication skills and the ability to operate effectively in customer-facing environments with evolving requirements and priorities.
- Familiarity with Python, SQL, Java, or another programming language is a plus.
- Exposure to AWS, Microsoft Azure, Oracle Cloud, or other cloud platforms is advantageous.
- Knowledge of APIs, databases, data pipelines, data modeling, or distributed systems is beneficial.
- Exposure to Databricks, Apache Spark, Tableau, Git, or comparable technologies is a plus.
- Interest in federal technology modernization, defense health, secure data environments, or regulated technology is desirable.
- Exposure to AI/ML concepts or LLM-based tools is advantageous.
- U.S. Citizenship is required due to client requirements.
- An active DoW Secret clearance or higher is required.
- Ability to work remotely within the continental United States, with periodic travel as required.
