Associate Structures – Transport & Infrastructure
Summary
Leads structural design and project delivery for metro rail, tunnels, bridges, and other infrastructure projects in Singapore, ensuring compliance with codes and best practices using advanced engineering software.
We are seeking an experienced and technically strong Associate Structural Engineer to join our Transportation & Infrastructure team supporting Singapore Region. The successful candidate will play a key role in the delivery of major metro rail, station, tunnels, depot, bridge, viaduct, and other infrastructure projects, providing technical leadership, project management, and multidisciplinary coordination.
The role requires extensive experience in structural engineering design, project delivery, management and leadership of engineering teams. The candidate will be responsible for developing robust engineering solutions that comply with Singapore's regulatory requirements and international best practices while ensuring safety, quality, sustainability, and constructability.
Technical Leadership
• Lead structural design and analysis of:
o Metro Rail Stations (Underground and Elevated), Viaducts, Depots and Maintenance Facilities
o Bored Tunnels, Mined Tunnels and Cut-and-Cover Tunnels
o Road Bridges, Pedestrian Bridges, Flyovers and Interchanges
o Maritime Structures
o Temporary Works and Construction Staging
• Review and approve design calculations, drawings, reports, specifications, and technical submissions.
• Develop innovative and cost-effective design solutions while maintaining safety and functionality.
• Perform advanced structural analysis for static, dynamic, seismic, construction-stage, and fatigue loading conditions.
• Ensure designs meet client requirements, authority regulations, and project objectives.

Project Delivery & Design Management
• Manage structural engineering packages through concept, feasibility, preliminary and detailed design stages.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams including:
o Geotechnical and Tunnel
o Civil Infrastructure
o Architecture
o MEP
o BIM/Digital Engineering
• Plan and monitor project schedules, budgets, resource allocation, and deliverables.
• Identify project risks and implement mitigation measures.
• Support design reviews, value engineering workshops, and constructability assessments.

Interface & Stakeholder Management
• Act as technical lead and primary point of contact for interfacing teams and stakeholders.
• Prepare and present technical reports and design submissions.
• Support business development activities, proposal preparation, and project pursuits.

Team Leadership
• Lead and mentor teams of structural engineers and BIM professionals.
• Review and supervise engineering work performed by junior staff.
• Promote technical excellence and engineering best practices.
• Support capability development and succession planning within the team.

Quality, Safety & Compliance
• Ensure compliance with company QA/QC systems.
• Maintain adherence to Design for Safety principles.
• Ensure designs are fully compliant with Singapore authority requirements and relevant international standards.
• Participate in technical audits and peer reviews.
Education
• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering.
• Master's Degree in Structural Engineering.
Professional Memberships
• Chartered Engineer (CEng), MIStructE, MICE, or equivalent professional accreditation is highly desirable.
• Professional Engineer (PE) Singapore is preferred.

Required Experience
Essential
• Min 15 years of structural design experience.
• Proven experience in:
o Metro Rail Projects including underground stations, tunnels, elevation stations, viaducts and Depots.
o Road Bridges and other Transportation Infrastructure.
• Experience in full cycle of Design Management from tender, design to the completion of construction.
• Experience in coordinating and working with multidisciplinary design teams.
Preferred
• Experience working on Singapore infrastructure projects.
• International project experience across Europe, Australia, Middle East, or Southeast Asia.
• Experience in managing client interfaces and authority submissions.
