Advocates is looking to engage and retain an Associate (Advocate/Chartered
Accountant) for its Taxation – Litigation and Advisory practice.
Engagement
Profile
The role would
primarily involve:
- Assisting in matters relating to
Direct and Indirect Taxation, including Income Tax, GST, Customs, and
allied laws;
- Supporting the team in handling tax
disputes, assessments, investigations, compliance matters, and regulatory
proceedings;
- Conducting legal research and
analysis on taxation laws, judicial precedents, notifications, circulars,
and regulatory developments;
- Drafting and assisting in the
preparation of appeals, replies, petitions, applications, rejoinders,
legal advisories, memos, and other legal documents;
- Assisting in litigation,
quasi-judicial proceedings, and tax advisory assignments under the
guidance of senior professionals;
- Supporting filings and procedural
work before tax authorities, tribunals, and other forums in coordination
with clerks and support staff;
- Managing case records, documentation,
and internal knowledge resources in a structured and professional manner;
- Adapting quickly to digital tools and
internal systems such as Zoho, Microsoft Teams, and other technology
platforms used by the Firm;
- Contributing to the Firm's knowledge
database through case law compilations, statute summaries, white papers,
articles, newsletters, and internal research initiatives.
Requirements
Academic Qualification
- Must be a
qualified Advocate (LL.B.) enrolled with the Bar Council of India, and/or
a qualified Chartered Accountant (CA).
- Qualified professionals and candidates with up to three (3) years of
relevant experience are encouraged to apply.
