Associate Transmission and Interconnection
You will support interconnection and transmission planning for large-load and co-located generation assets. You will prepare utility and grid-operator submissions, track study milestones, maintain power-system models, perform power-flow studies, and communicate technical findings to engineering and business stakeholders. You will also coordinate dynamic-model validation and help improve study workflows through automation.
Responsibilities
- Prepare materials for utility and grid operator submittals
- Track study milestones and support related negotiation processes
- Maintain internal records to support study oversight
- Maintain model currency across regional grid operator systems
- Perform power flow studies for load capacity screening, network upgrade cost estimation, and system reliability analysis
- Support system stability and protection-related studies
- Prepare technical reports and analysis
- Translate technical findings for engineering and business audiences
- Support coordination across internal teams
- Coordinate with external consultants to build and validate power flow and dynamic models
- Support workflow automation and modern software tools to scale study throughput
Requirements
- BSEE from an ABET-accredited program with a power emphasis
- 3–5 years of experience in power systems, transmission planning, and interconnection
- Proficiency with power system modeling and simulation software such as PSS/E, PSLF, PowerWorld, or PSCAD
- Ability to interpret complex interconnection study results and develop actionable recommendations
- Track record of negotiating interconnection agreements and managing cost and schedule risk
- Skills in report preparation, data analytics, cost modeling, and written and verbal communication
