JOB DESCRIPTION

Core Responsibilities

Social Media Management

• Act as the primary manager for Asteria Theatre Facebook and Instagram accounts

• Assist with planning, drafting, scheduling, and posting content across platforms including Instagram, Facebook, and YouTube.

  • Help maintain a consistent brand voice and visual identity
  • Monitor comments, messages, and audience engagement
  • Share event information and assist with promotional campaigns
  • Keep on top of notifications and share posts from CMU Stages and rental events that are tagged.
  • Tag and collaborate with CMU Stages as well as other appropriate stakeholders such as the Hotel Maverick.
  • Attend CMU social media manager meetings and collaborate with that team.

Content Creation

  • Capture photos and short-form videos during performances, rehearsals, campus activities, and events. Requires independent initiative to be present at the Asteria during the day on a regular basis to seek out creative content. Also requires attendance at key evening and weekend events.
  • Edit video clips, reels, and promotional graphics for social media and digital advertising
  • Assist with behind-the-scenes storytelling and artist highlights
  • Help brainstorm creative campaign ideas and audience engagement concepts.
  • Develop new content for each platform showcasing brand personality and staying on top of trends.

Event & Promotional Support

  • Assist with event setup, promotional tables, and audience engagement activities
  • Provide social media coverage during events and performances
  • Help distribute marketing materials across campus and the community
  • Support season announcements, special events, donor receptions, and membership activities

Analytics & Research

  • Monitor engagement metrics and assist with reporting
  • Research trends, audience behavior, and comparable venue marketing strategies
  • Help evaluate campaign effectiveness and identify growth opportunities

Administrative Support

  • Assist with organizing marketing assets and maintaining photo/video libraries
  • Help update calendars, spreadsheets, and promotional timelines
  • Provide general office and administrative support as needed
  • Attend production meetings if aligned with class schedule
  • Archive all assets created

Preferred Qualifications

  • Interest in marketing, communications, arts administration, design, media production, or related fields
  • Familiarity with social media platforms and trends
  • Experience with Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, CapCut, or similar creative software preferred
  • Photography and/or video editing experience preferred
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Organized, dependable, and able to work independently
  • Comfortable working evenings or weekends during events when needed
  • Creative thinker and comfortable interacting with the public/initiating participation
