ATDM CNC Instructor - 3rd Shift

Teaches CNC machining and precision manufacturing skills to adult learners in an overnight program, preparing them for defense industry careers.

What You Will Do
The ATDM CNC Machining Instructor – 3rd Shift is responsible for delivering high-quality instruction in an accelerated, hands-on manufacturing training environment that prepares adult learners for careers supporting the Defense Industrial Base.
This position plays a critical role in helping students develop the technical skills, safety knowledge, and workforce readiness competencies needed to succeed in precision machining careers. The Instructor will provide classroom and laboratory instruction, assess student performance, maintain training equipment, and collaborate with curriculum developers and industry partners to ensure training remains current and relevant.
Responsibilities include:
- Deliver instruction in CNC machining, machining theory, blueprint reading, GD&T, technical math, and manufacturing best practices.
- Instruct students in the setup, operation, and programming of multi-axis milling and turning centers.
- Demonstrate and reinforce safe operation of manufacturing equipment and tools.
- Evaluate student performance through written assessments, practical exercises, and projects.
- Provide coaching and support to help students successfully complete the program.
- Collaborate with curriculum developers and industry partners to maintain program relevance and effectiveness.
- Assist with laboratory organization, equipment maintenance, and inventory management.
- Document student progress, credentials earned, and program outcomes.
- Participate in departmental meetings, professional development activities, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Support special projects and other duties as assigned.

Shift Details
This position is assigned to 3rd Shift and is responsible for supporting overnight instruction and training operations.
The primary schedule is:
Sunday through Thursday, 10:30 p.m. to 7:30 a.m.
To ensure uninterrupted training delivery, the Instructor may be asked to adjust schedules periodically to address instructional gaps, support coverage needs, participate in training activities, or assist with special program requirements.
A shift differential may be provided based on assigned instructional hours.
