Position Purpose: To provide specialized soccer instruction and mentorship to student athletes.
- Execute a comprehensive training program that teaches fundamental techniques, skills and strategies tailored to the sport and the athlete's level of development
- Apply developmental and age-appropriate coaching methods that foster skill acquisition and personal growth on and off the field
- Cultivate a positive team environment that emphasizes sportsmanship, leadership, and teamwork among student-athletes
- Positively motivate athletes, promoting high standards of effort, discipline, and commitment
- Ensure the health, safety, and well-being of all student athletes are always the top priority
- Comply with all policies and procedures outlined in Shorecrest documents and directives from the Athletic Director
- Adhere to all FHSAA (Florida High School Athletic Association) rules and regulations
- Promptly complete all required Shorecrest Human Resources documentation and athletic compliance requirements
- Attend all mandatory meetings and professional development training sessions as required by the Athletic Director
- Maintain clear, effective, and professional communication with players, parents, administrators, and athletic staff regarding schedules and player progress
- Manage and maintain an accurate inventory of all team equipment, ensuring it is in safe and working condition
- Coordinate the distribution, collection, and accountability for team uniforms
- Provide transportation for student-athletes to and from contests using the school's non-CDL bus, following all safety guidelines
- Perform other duties as officially assigned by the Athletic Director to support the overall athletic program
- Experience is preferred in coaching sport, including a deep and current knowledge of its rules, techniques, and developmental strategies
- Proven ability to organize, supervise, and manage all facets of a competitive sports program/team
- Exceptional leadership and facilitative skills necessary to motivate student-athletes and manage team logistics effectively
- Effective organizational skills, with the ability to be efficient, well-organized, and proficiently manage multiple duties simultaneously
- Commitment to serving as a positive role model, upholding the highest standards of ethics, professionalism, and sportsmanship
- Outstanding interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively and respectfully with a diverse group of stakeholders: students, parents, Shorecrest faculty, staff, administrators, and coaches from opposing schools
- Ability to foster and thrive in an inclusive work environment, successfully collaborating with all members of the Shorecrest community, regardless of background

Work Environment:
- Work is performed primarily in an outdoor setting, requiring exposure to and tolerance for varied weather conditions, including extreme heat and cold, humidity, rain, and direct sunlight
- Routinely involves lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling moderately heavy objects and materials, typically ranging from 20 to 50 pounds
- It requires standing, walking, and moving quickly for extended periods during practices and games
- Ability to thrive in a dynamic and potentially stressful environment characterized by frequent deadlines, scheduling changes, and a wide variety of demands
- Requires strong interpersonal skills to manage a varied and diverse array of contacts, including students, parents, staff, and officials, often under pressure
