General Summary:

ATC will be responsible for an outreach program to local high schools. Duties include event coverage, training room hours, clinical hours, body fat assessor, CPR-AED instructor, and participation in coaches/advisors sports medicine program required by Ohio Department of Education for pupil activity supervision.

Essential Functions:

  • Coordinates and communicates information with appropriate personnel. Works cooperatively with coaching staff.
  • Promote safe and appropriate practice and competition. Plans and implements conditioning program.
  • Develop injury and illness prevention strategies.
  • Provide quality, immediate care in case of an injury on the school grounds or at school-sponsored athletic event, demonstrating appropriate knowledge of initial first aid procedures. Displays ability to take charge of emergency situations.
  • Applies protective and/or injury-preventative devices such as taping, bandaging, or bracing.
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive emergency action plan.
  • Advises on the selection, fit, function and maintenance of protective athletic equipment.
  • Administer appropriate injury evaluation and treatment skills at acute injury clinics and determine medical referral if necessary. Completes written injury evaluation reports.
  • Maintains professional composure and confidence during stressful situations.
  • Maintains open communication using the appropriate channel regarding issues.
