Essential Duties and Responsibilities--Clinic

- Develop and reinforce local workflow processes to maximize quality and productivity that are in alignment with Alliance policies and procedures.
- Take direction from and collaborate with Regional Administrator, providers and/or Charge Nurse to select, train, and develop a strong staff.
- Monitor patient and provider experience throughout the day and make adjustments, as needed, to ensure the best possible patient outcomes.
- Ensure that the provider extender team respects the privacy of patients and is in compliance with Alliance policies in this regard.
- Review documentation produced by team members. Coach them to produce high-quality documentation that reflects medical necessity.
- Ensure that every provider extender is competent and efficient with clinical chart prep, including use of eCW templates, entering HPI, interval history, exam, order entry, referrals and quality measures. Their skillset must also include processing lab orders, prior authorizations, pre/post procedure calls, telephone encounters, document boxes, lab results, and preparation of office procedures.
- Establish time and quality standards (for telephone encounters, urine samples, rooming patients, etc.) and use these standards to constructively challenge team members to perform at the highest level.
- Establish and reinforce a culture of teamwork within the provider extender team, as well as with providers, front desk, and the ASC.
- Set an example for the provider extender team by demonstrating concern for patient welfare to patients and their families.

In such cases, the Clinic Lead should engage the Regional Administrator.
- Resolve patient complaints. Seek assistance on the more difficult ones from appropriate authority (provider, Regional Administrator, Charge Nurse, Front Office Manager).
