Athletic Trainer Guest Teacher
VACANCY: The Valley View Public School District is seeking an individual to fill a temporary Athletic Trainer substitute ‘guest' teaching position for the 2026-2027 school year.
DATES: November 19, 2026 - March 10, 2027
JOB SUMMARY: The Athletic Trainer is responsible to the Building Principal and Athletic Director for the prevention, evaluation, immediate care, treatment, and rehabilitation of athletic injuries among student-athletes. This role involves managing the athletic training facility, executing return-to-play protocols, maintaining detailed medical documentation, and coordinating emergency action plans.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Applicants must hold a State of Illinois Athletic Trainer license- Board of Certification for the Athletic Trainer (BOC)
- Successful secondary (9–12) or collegiate athletic training experience (preferred).
- Demonstrated skill in evaluating, treating, and rehabilitating athletic injuries, managing return-to-play protocols, and maintaining accurate medical documentation.
- Knowledge of modern sports medicine techniques, injury prevention strategies, and emergency action planning.
- Ability to organize and manage the athletic training facility to ensure a safe, efficient care environment for student-athletes.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with student-athletes, parents, coaches, physicians, and school administration.
- Willingness to provide coverage for athletic events, practices, and co-curricular programs.
Salary Range: $32.50-$45.00/Hour
