Position Summary
The Athletics Game Day Assistant plays a vital role in creating a positive game-day experience for student-athletes, coaches, officials, and fans. This position assists with event setup, scores table operations including scoreboard and book-keeping, customer service, and facility management before, during, and after athletic contests.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with setup and breakdown of athletic venues, including signage, tables, equipment, and seating.
- Help operate the scoreboard, game clock, music, or public address system.
- Capture photos and post on social media.
- Monitor facilities to maintain a safe, clean, and organized environment.
- Assist with post-game cleanup, equipment storage, and venue reset.
- Provide excellent customer service while representing the athletic department in a professional manner.
Qualifications
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work evenings and some weekends.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with large crowds.
- Basic knowledge of athletics and sporting events.
- Ability to lift up to 30 pounds and stand for extended periods.
Preferred Skills
- Familiarity with scoreboard, book-keeping, or sports event operations.
- Social media or photography experience is a plus.
- CPR/First Aid certification
