SUMMARY OF POSITION:
The Operating Room Attendant assists the Staff Nurse in the care of the patient. Assists in meeting basic physical and psychological needs of the patients and their families. Assists in meeting the environmental needs of the unit and contributes to the efficiency and effectiveness of the unit.
The OR Attendant performs various patient care activities for surgical services such as transporting patients to and from the operating room, lifting and positioning patients on stretchers, delivering specimens to the laboratory, and greeting patients and families. Performs related work as required and/or assigned by the Registered Professional Nurse.
SCHEDULE: 11 PM-7:30 AM. Nights vary. Alternate weekends required.
EDUCATION, TRAINING & EXPERIENCE:
High School graduate or GED equivalent required.
Must be able to exert force frequently.
One year of hospital work experience or an equivalent combination of training and experience required.
