Attendant, Tool Crib
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Inventory Management:
- Maintain accurate inventory levels of all maintenance, repair, and operational supplies in the parts crib.
- Perform regular stock counts and adjust inventory levels as necessary to ensure availability without overstocking.
- Implement and maintain an inventory tracking system in emaint (CMMS- Computerized Maintenance Management System) to record usage, stock levels, and reordering needs.
- Coordination with Maintenance Team:
- Collaborate with maintenance technicians to identify frequently used parts and plan stock levels accordingly.
- Work with the maintenance planner to forecast part needs based on upcoming projects, preventive maintenance schedules, and equipment repair histories.
- Cost Control:
- Monitor parts and supply expenses, looking for opportunities to reduce costs without compromising quality or production needs.
- Maintain accurate records of parts utilization, reporting to management as required.
- Receiving and Documentation:
- Receive incoming parts and supplies, verifying quantities and quality against purchase orders and packing slips.
- Ensure all received parts are properly labeled, stored, and recorded in the CMMS.
- 5S & Organization:
- Maintain the organization and cleanliness of the parts crib area using 5S principles (Sort, Set in Order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain).
- Ensure parts crib is organized for quick retrieval and minimal downtime during maintenance activities.
- Data Entry & Reporting:
- Enter and maintain accurate data in inventory and procurement systems (such as CMMS or ERP systems).
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 2+ years of experience in inventory management, purchasing, or a similar role, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
- Strong understanding of maintenance, repair, and operations (MRO) parts.
- Proficiency in using inventory management software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Excellent communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working in a manufacturing environment or with maintenance teams.
- Familiarity with 5S principles and lean manufacturing concepts.
- Knowledge of common mechanical and electrical parts used in industrial maintenance.
