Attorney-Adviser (Labor)

About the position: Serves as an Attorney-Adviser (Labor) in the DHA Office of General Counsel. This position is located in Travis AFB, CA: Note: This position is in the Excepted Service and does not confer competitive status.

Advises the Defense Health Agency (DHA) Command on civilian personnel law, labor relations, and equal employment law issues.

Responsible for labor law training to the Commander, principals and leaders

Reviews proposed command labor activity regulations and actions for legal sufficiency

Prepares, researches, and issues oral and written opinions concerning civilian personnel law, employment discrimination and labor relations matters

Represents DHA in judicial proceedings for Equal Employment Opportunity matters

Conducts settlement negotiations with opposing counsel

Provides timely responses to difficult, complex and urgent legal problems

Serves as the subject matter expert for Government Ethics, financial disclosure programs and post-government employment
