AU/UK Bookkeeper (Morning Shift, On-site)

Roles and Responsibilities

UK Bookkeeping & Tax Compliance – Primary Focus (65%)

• Manage UK bookkeeping, bank reconciliations, AP/AR, payroll, and month-end reporting.
• Prepare and support UK VAT returns and tax compliance.
• Maintain accurate financial and tax records and resolve discrepancies.
• Where qualified, lodge VAT/tax submissions directly with HMRC

Australian Bookkeeping & Compliance – Secondary Focus (35%)

• Manage Xero bank reconciliations, AP/AR, payroll, and monthly reporting.
• Prepare payroll journals and complete related reconciliations.
• Support BAS, superannuation, Payroll Tax, WorkCover, and tax requirements.
• Review and resolve month-end discrepancies and adjustments.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Strong bookkeeping/accounting experience, preferably with UK and Australian businesses.
• UK bookkeeping and VAT experience highly preferred.
• Working knowledge of UK VAT/HMRC and Australian compliance requirements.
• Hands-on Xero experience.
• Experience with AP, AR, payroll, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.

Proficient With

• Xero & Xero Bills
• Microsoft Excel & Microsoft 365
• Online banking platforms
• UK VAT/HMRC systems
• Financial reporting tools

Experience Advantage

• UK VAT preparation and direct HMRC lodgement.
• UK tax compliance and bookkeeping.
• Australian BAS, Payroll Tax, WorkCover, and superannuation.
• Xero payroll journals and management reporting.
• High-volume AP/AR.
• Experience supporting both UK and Australian businesses.
