Audiologist
About the Position: This position is located in a hospital or clinic setting and is responsible for performing professional audiology work supporting the Directorate of Surgery, Audiology and is located at Naval Medical Center Portsmouth, Virginia. This is a Direct Hire Solicitation
Evaluate patients for auditory dysfunction associated with traumatic brain injury, polytrauma or post-traumatic stress disorders, to include central auditory processing evaluations.
Conduct diagnostic audiological assessments and procedures.
Select and fit all types of hearing aids and assistive devices and listening devices.
Perform complete diagnostic audiology evaluations on infants who do not pass the initial hearing screening criteria, or who fall within the High-Risk factor for hearing loss.
Document each patient treatment by writing clinical reports and ensure documentation is accurate.
Perform testing to evaluate vestibular dysfunction.
Teach principles of diagnostic audiology, rehabilitation, or vestibular function on an occasional basis to ENT staff and residents and 4th year Audiology students.
Operate automated data systems utilized to document patient care.
Perform cochlear implant evaluations and mappings.
