Job Title: Audiology Technician

About this Opportunity:

The Audiology Technician supports licensed audiologists in providing hearing and balance care to National Guard Service Members. This role involves preparing patients for evaluations, maintaining audiology equipment, performing routine tests under supervision, managing hearing aid maintenance, and ensuring efficient clinic operations. The technician plays a key role in enhancing Service Members experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist audiologists in conducting hearing evaluations and balance assessments.
  • Perform basic hearing screenings and immittance testing under audiologist supervision.
  • Educate patients on proper use and care of hearing aids and assistive listening devices.
  • Assist with data entry, report preparation, and documentation for patient files.
  • Adhere to all infection control, safety, and confidentiality policies and procedures.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Associate degree or certificate in healthcare, audiology assistance, or related field preferred.
  • Previous experience in an audiology or healthcare setting preferred.
  • Audiology Assistant certification (if required by state regulations) preferred or must be obtained within a specified time after hire.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Basic knowledge of audiology equipment and procedures.
  • Comfort with computers and electronic health record systems.
  • Compassionate and patient-focused approach to care.

Working Conditions:

  • Exams may take place at local offices, mobile clinics, armories or other designated military facilities.
  • Regular interaction with patients of all ages.
  • May involve standing for extended periods and occasional lifting of equipment.
