The Internal Audit section at the Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS) is looking for dedicated professionals like you to help us uphold the highest standards of integrity and efficiency.
The individual selected for this position will independently perform advanced audit work across the department’s programs, operations, and services, including participation in internal and external projects focused on internal controls, operational efficiency, and compliance.

- Three years of experience in accounting or auditing; OR
Six years of full-time experience in any field plus twenty-four semester hours in one or a combination of the following: accounting, auditing, business, finance, management, economics, quantitative methods, or information systems; OR
A bachelor’s degree with twenty-four semester hours in one or a combination of the following: accounting, auditing, business, finance, management, economics, quantitative methods, or information systems; OR
A bachelor’s degree in accounting, auditing, finance, business administration, management, economics, information systems, quantitative methods, or statistics; OR
A bachelor’s degree plus a Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) or Certified Government Audit Professional (CGAP) designation; OR
An advanced degree in accounting, auditing, finance, business administration, management, economics, information systems, quantitative methods, or statistics; OR
A Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license, Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE), or Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) designation.
EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION:
Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full-time work experience in any field. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any field. Job Specification

Job Duties and Other Information
- Job Duties:
As an Auditor 1, 2, 3, or 4, the incumbent will be responsible for the following tasks, among others:
- Conducts audits of highly technical and complex nature of federal and state programs and systems, information, technology, fiscal operations, and functional operations designed to improve the effectiveness of risk management, internal controls, and governance processes.
- Performs reviews of sub-recipients awarded Federal or State funds by DCFS.
- Assist in the audit resolution process, which may inquire communication with outside entities including the Louisiana Legislative Auditor, federal grantors and CPA firms.
- Works independently to perform highly complex audits of departmental programs, operations, and services.
- Participates in internal and external projects focused on internal controls, operational efficiency, and compliance.
- This position reports directly to the Auditor Manager.
Position-Specific Details:Appointment Type: Probational, Promotional, or Job Appointment. This position may be filled as a probational appointment or a job appointment that may last up to 48 months. Job appointments may convert to probational appointments. Also, it may be filled as a detail and promoted within 12 months or by promotion of a permanent classified employee.
Work Schedule: Typically, work hours are 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, Monday - Friday. Flexible work schedules are available after meeting certain criteria and is dependent upon the position you are applying for. Some positions require working shifts.
Career Progression: Positions may be filled from this posting as an Auditor 1, 2, 3, or 4, depending on the level of experience of the selected applicant.
Compensation: Below is the annual salary range for each level:The Auditor 1 (AS 614) $21.63 hour
The Auditor 2 (AS 615) $23.14 hour
The Auditor 3 (AS 617) $26.50 hour
- The Auditor 4 (AS 619) $30.35 hour
