Auditor, GCAD - Credit Audit MY
Summary
Internal auditor focused on credit and risk processes, conducting independent reviews of controls and compliance for a major bank in Malaysia.
Job Purpose:
To carry out assignments in accordance with the audit plan with the objective of providing independent, objective assurance and value added services in improving the effectiveness of internal control, risk management and governance processes of auditable units.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out audit assignments according to audit plan, applicable standards and regulatory requirements
- Assess the risks and control weaknesses of the areas audited and provide suitable recommendation.
- Develop and update the audit programs, maintain quality of audit documentation and active participation in internal audit continuous improvement initiatives.
- Report control weaknesses, risk implications and provide value-add recommendations for improvement.
- Ensure documentation/working papers are accurately and appropriately developed, TeamMate is used effectively and that internal audit standards are met in carrying out all audit assignment.
- Preparation of timely and quality audit reports upon completion of audit fieldwork
- Follow up on outstanding audit recommendations and perform validation of implemented recommendations
- Carry out any other responsibilities/tasks as assigned by the CA Department Head or Section Head from time to time
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulatory requirements and adherence to the Group & GCAD P&P
- (Note: For Team Leader role, to manage all aspects of audit assignments, including providing supervision and guidance to team members as well as on-the-job training)
Job Specifications
- Recognized Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Law or related disciplines, Mathematic, Statistic and Actuarial Science.
- CIA, MICPA, ACCA,CIMA and/or any other professional qualifications of a recognized accounting or internal auditing body
- Relevant banking/ financial certification will be an added advantage
- Minimum 3 years of experience in internal/external audit, front line and credit operations, credit assessment/analysis, finance, risk management or compliance function. For Executive Officer, fresh graduates can be considered
Technical/Functional skills
- Good analytical and problem solving skills particularly in relation to governance, internal control or compliance matters
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Basic Credit skill such as credit evaluation, loan/financing structuring, credit documentation and recovery process for retail and/or non-retail loan/financing.
- Basic understanding of Shariah requirement for financing.
