About the Role

Our client is seeking a technically strong and hands-on Auto Electrical Engineer to lead and manage automotive electrical operations, ensuring high-quality execution of vehicle electrical installations, modifications, diagnostics, and troubleshooting activities.

This role is responsible for technical decision-making, quality control, team supervision, and the successful delivery of customized vehicle electrical solutions while maintaining the highest standards of safety, reliability, and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the Auto Electrical function to ensure efficient daily operations, productivity, and quality standards.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot automotive electrical and electronic systems, including wiring, lighting, sensors, control systems, accessories, and communication systems.
• Plan and execute electrical installations and modifications for customized vehicles while ensuring proper wiring, functionality, safety, and finishing.
• Supervise, guide, and support Auto Electrical Technicians through effective work allocation, technical assistance, and performance management.
• Inspect and test completed electrical work using appropriate diagnostic and testing equipment.
• Ensure electrical systems meet quality, safety, and customer requirements.
• Coordinate closely with Production, Technical, Sales, and other departments to support project execution and resolve technical issues.
• Maintain technical documentation, wiring records, and repair information where required.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives within automotive electrical operations.
• Ensure compliance with safety and quality standards throughout all electrical activities.

Requirements

• Degree or Diploma in Automobile Engineering, Automotive Electrical Engineering, Electrical & Electronic Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum 2 years of relevant experience within the automobile industry.
• Practical hands-on experience in automotive electrical systems, diagnostics, wiring, troubleshooting, installations, and modifications.
• Ability to read, understand, and troubleshoot automotive wiring diagrams and electrical schematics.
• Experience working with automotive diagnostic equipment and tools.
• Strong understanding of automotive electrical and electronic systems.
• Excellent problem-solving and technical troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to work independently while managing technical responsibilities effectively.
• Willingness to work full-time from the Nittambuwa Head Office location.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in vehicle customization and automotive aftermarket operations.
• Experience working with premium, luxury, or high-end vehicle electrical systems.
• Knowledge of Electric Vehicle (EV) technology and high-voltage systems.
• Experience in electrical module development, configuration, and coding.
• Knowledge of relevant ISO standards and their practical application.
• Experience developing technical documentation, electrical diagrams, and wiring specifications.
