Autocad Draftsman (Fire fighting Systems)
Job Summary:
Join our engineering team as an AutoCAD Draftsman specialising in Fire Fighting Systems. You will design and document fire protection solutions across projects, working with internal teams and external stakeholders. You’ll deliver accurate drawings and communicate technical details clearly to support delivery and business development.
Key Responsibilities – AutoCAD Draughting, Fire Fighting System Design & Client Interaction
Create detailed AutoCAD drawings, schematics, and layouts for fire fighting and fire protection systems, including piping, sprinkler layouts, and equipment positioning.
Update and maintain technical documentation across all project stages to reflect client requirements, safety standards, and company policies.
Work with engineers, sales, and project managers to clarify requirements, resolve issues, and support successful project outcomes.
Attend site visits and surveys to collect data for accurate draughting and address on-site conditions.
Present drawings and solutions to clients and stakeholders, helping communicate system benefits and technical details.
Maintain drawing registers and ensure version control across documentation sets.
Recommend improvements to drawing standards, documentation processes, and system designs.
Required Skills – AutoCAD Fire Fighting System Design, Technical Sales & Communication
Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD and related draughting tools for fire protection or mechanical system design.
Strong technical knowledge of fire fighting systems, components, and installation standards.
Ability to explain technical concepts clearly and support sales with technical input.
Excellent verbal and written communication for colleagues, clients, and suppliers.
Strong organisational skills to manage multiple deadlines.
Experience in AutoCAD draughting, ideally within fire fighting systems or building services engineering.
Knowledge of relevant fire protection standards and codes (e.g. NFPA, BS EN).
Experience supporting client proposals or technical sales is an advantage.
