- Architect the roadmap and goal for next-generation Autofocus (AF) and Optical Image Stabilization (OIS) systems across Google's hardware portfolio.
- Drive the introduction of novel AF/OIS technologies—from concept to production—to pioneer new imaging and sensing capabilities.
- Own the end-to-end design, development, and optimization of advanced control systems and algorithms to achieve AF and OIS performance.
Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, Control Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 6 years of experience solving cross-functional issues in a data-driven environment.
- 5 years of experience with the testing, calibration, and validation of AF/OIS systems for consumer electronics.
- 5 years of experience in system-level (Software/Firmware/Hardware) co-design for performance, power, and manufacturability.
- 5 years of experience with the development of control algorithms for AF/OIS systems from simplified mechanical modeling and Simulink.
Preferred qualifications:
- Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, Control Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Experience with OIS algorithm design with sensor fusion from IMU (inertial measurement unit) (on SOC (system on a chip)) or MCU (Micro-controller unit).
- Strong prototyping skills to enable software development/proof of concepts and programming experience in C++ Firmware.
- Understanding of statistics for process control and analyzing measurement data with Python or Matlab.
- Understanding of standard protocols such as I2C/I3C, UART, SPI.
