Automation & DevOps Engineer in Sheffield (hybrid, 3 days/week in office) building production Python automation and managing PostgreSQL for IBM Z/mainframe environments, using Ansible Automation Platform, Git/CI-CD, Grafana, Nexus Repository, and HashiCorp Vault; mainframe exposure is a plus.
We are Automation & DevOps Engineer - (IBM Z/Mainframe Technologies)
Location: Sheffield - Hybrid/3 days Per week in Office
- Hands-on Python development experience, including modular design, error handling, logging, testing, and production-quality coding practices.
- Solid PostgreSQL experience covering schema design, query optimisation, performance tuning, and operational data management.
- Proficiency in Git and Git-based development and CI/CD practices.
- Enterprise-scale Ansible automation experience using Ansible Automation Platform (AAP).
- Experience designing Grafana dashboards and interpreting operational metrics.
- Hands-on experience with Nexus Repository or equivalent artefact management tools.
- Experience integrating HashiCorp Vault with automation and CI/CD workflows.
- Exposure to IBM Z/Mainframe environments and z/OS job execution patterns is advantageous.
