Basic Job Duties
· Maintain reliable operation of all automation and operational technology (OT) systems in order to support plant production with minimum system downtime or failure.
· Manage and maintain automation systems including PLCs, HMIs, SCADA systems and industrial communication networks across the manufacturing plant.
· Maintain and administer OT infrastructure including SCADA servers, historian databases, engineering workstations and virtualization (VM) servers supporting plant automation systems.
· Monitor and maintain industrial data collection systems and historians to ensure accurate and reliable operational data for production monitoring and reporting.
· Ensure all PLC programs, SCADA configurations, and automation system changes follow proper change management, documentation and version control procedures.
· Implement and maintain OT cybersecurity practices including system access control, vulnerability monitoring, system patching coordination and secure remote access management.
· Support troubleshooting and root cause analysis for automation system failures and coordinate with engineering and maintenance teams to resolve issues efficiently.
· Coordinate with automation vendors, system integrators and internal engineering teams for automation system upgrades, system improvements and project implementations.
· Ensure automation systems comply with corporate digital manufacturing standards and OT cybersecurity requirements.
· Maintain proper documentation of automation architecture, PLC programs, SCADA configurations, network diagrams and system backups.
· Lead continuous improvement initiatives related to automation reliability, digitalization and system optimization across plant operations.
· Ensure compliance with all internal and external quality, safety, health and environmental instructions, rules, and regulations.
· Ensure that the place of work and systems under responsibility are maintained in a safe condition without risk to health, safety or environment.
· Ensure prompt investigation, corrective actions and reporting of all automation related incidents or system failures.
Qualifications\:
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Automation Engineering, or a related discipline.
- 6-10 years of experience in Industrial Automation, Manufacturing Control Systems, or Automation Engineering within a manufacturing environment. Strong candidates with relevant hands-on experience may also be considered.
- Hands-on experience with PLC-based Automation Systems and AVEVA SCADA platforms.
- Experience with Siemens/Omron PLC, HMI, WinCC, Wonderware, or other SCADA systems will be added-advantaged.
- Experience in automation system integration, digitalization initiatives, or manufacturing automation projects.
- Knowledge of GMP, ISO 9001, ISO 13485, ISO 14001 and ISO 50001 requirements.
- Previous experience supporting digital manufacturing, automation modernization or SCADA migration projects will be a plus.
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work effectively across Engineering, Operations and IT teams.
- Basic working proficiency in English.
