Automation Engineer
Design, develop, and optimize liquid-cooling control systems and environmental and facility monitoring systems for data centers. The role includes control-circuit design, component selection, controller logic and user-interface development, upper-level software and data interfaces, on-site commissioning, troubleshooting, documentation, and support for reliable 24/7 operations.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and optimize data center liquid-cooling control systems
- Design and implement environmental and facility monitoring systems
- Plan monitoring points, collect data, design alarm logic, and enable remote control
- Design control circuits, electrical schematics, and wiring diagrams
- Select controllers, drives, sensors, relays, and other control components
- Develop controller logic, user interfaces, upper-level software, and data exchange interfaces
- Debug Modbus, TCP/IP, and CAN communications
- Commission automation systems on site and troubleshoot technical issues
- Support data center construction and supervise automation system implementation
- Develop operational manuals, inspect systems, troubleshoot issues, optimize control logic, and maintain technical documentation
- Follow data center automation regulations and industry standards
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or above in electrical automation, automation, measurement and control technology, or a related field
- At least five years of experience in automation system design, development, and debugging
- Experience with data center liquid-cooling systems or infrastructure monitoring projects
- Proficiency in liquid-cooling system design, control logic, programming, and debugging
- Knowledge of facility monitoring system architecture, data collection, alarm design, and system integration
- Ability to design control circuits and electrical schematics and wiring diagrams
- Proficiency with CAD, EPLAN, or similar software
- Experience selecting controllers, drives, sensors, and relays
- Experience developing upper-level control systems and user interfaces
- Knowledge of C, C++, Python, or C#
- Familiarity with Modbus, TCP/IP, and CAN
- Experience with on-site equipment debugging
- Familiarity with NEC and UL standards
- Linux-based development experience is a plus
- Experience with cold plate or immersion cooling is advantageous
