Automation Engineer - Coordinator

General Description

The Test Engineer ensures the quality of new and existing functionalities in applications by executing exhaustive tests, using state-of-the-art test tools with focus on non-regression testing using automation. They are responsible for defining, writing, and implementing a rigorous, risk-based test strategy. They will report differences on expected results to development teams and provide objective, evidence-based quality assessments to support successful product deployments.

Main activities:

  • Define Test Strategy & Plan: Design, write, and maintain the comprehensive, risk-based test strategy and test plans for the project, covering scope, test levels, environmental needs.
  • Automation: Support the implementation of test automation where possible to optimize regression testing windows.
  • Analyse & Review: Read, analyse, and review all project and system documents to ensure the test strategy aligns perfectly with business requirements and technical designs. Identify gaps in Testing.
  • Test Design & Execution: Design, write, and execute comprehensive test scripts.
  • Defect & Risk Management: Create, document, and closely follow up on the resolution of defects. Assertively raise flags regarding outstanding testing and configuration issues under tight timelines.
  • Reporting: Produce highly transparent, validated test reports and readiness documentation to be signed off by Technology, Operations, and business stakeholders before go-live.
  • Collaboration: Closely collaborate with development (SCRUM) teams while maintaining the necessary QA independence to challenge deployment readiness.
  • Customer & Maintenance Support: Support external customers during acceptance test phases and actively reproduce/test bug corrections discovered in production.

Who we are looking for

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or a similar education with a focus on IT.
  • Good oral and written skills in English is a must. French is a bonus.
  • Test Methodology: Proven experience in defining, writing, and defending structured test strategies and test plans for complex software projects.
  • Critical Systems Experience: Experience or strong interest in testing critical, high-availability platforms (e.g., HPNS) is highly preferred.
  • Domain & Platform Knowledge: Strong know-how of "Cashless payment" methods is highly preferred.
  • Technical Testing Skills:
    • Strong programming skills (e.g. Python, C#, Java or JavaScript) and experience with at least one automation framework (e.g., Selenium, Robot, Cypress, Appium).
    • Solid experience with API testing (RESTful/SOAP) and tools (Postman, REST Assured, Newman, etc.).
    • Familiarity with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI) and version control (Git).
    • Experience building and maintaining test automation frameworks, data-driven testing, and test utilities.
    • Linux and SQL Database knowledge.
    • Experience with defect management and test management tools (e.g., JIRA, XRAY).
    • Understanding of software development life cycle and agile methodologies
