Automation Engineer - DevOps & CI/CD Innovator
Summary
Build and secure CI/CD pipelines, automate deployments, and troubleshoot production issues using cloud, container, and IaC tools like Terraform, Kubernetes, and Azure.
We are looking for a DevOps engineer who will be focused on enhancing the current features of our platforms by automating manual tasks, building new features to meet business requirements, and participating in collaboration meetings where concepts for new integration and features begin. You will work closely with other team members on technical issues and complex problems and take ownership of integral DevOps pipelines.
An individual in this role should be able to:
- Design and implement build, delivery and deployment pipeline for both SaaS applications and tools for managed services.
- Promote automation and focus on eliminating manual steps wherever possible
- Provide leadership in designing secure, highly available DevOps pipelines
- Work with offering/product owners and other stakeholders to clarify requirements/specs
- Review application logs and monitoring tools to triage production issues
- Conduct audits of environments to ensure consistency, predictability, and compliance
- Engage with technical support teams to assist in resolution of day-to-day technical and operational issues including defect management, vulnerability management, data migration and cyber-security
- Collaborate with team members and stakeholders on project estimation and planning
- Effectively and clearly communicate with individuals in various levels of the business
Required Technical and Professional Experience
- Experience with agile development, operating systems, hypervisors, scripting languages, DevOps environments, and the concept of integrated systems management.
- Intermediate or expert understanding of automation frameworks such as Terraform and Ansible.
- Experience working with security log analysis, application log analysis, and general log management best practices.
- Intermediate or expert understanding of containerization technologies.
- Familiar or intermediate understanding with virtualization technologies such as VMWare, Hyper-V or KVM (Kernel based Virtual Machine)
- Intermediate or expert understanding of cloud environments such Microsoft Azure, Amazon Web Services, Google Cloud Platform.
- Familiar with scripting languages (e.g., shell scripting, Python, Perl, etc.)
- Familiar or intermediate understanding orchestration tools such as Kubernetes, Red Hat OpenShift or Docker Swarm.
- Intermediate understanding of build systems (e.g., Jenkins, TravisCI, GitHub Actions).
- Familiar understanding of Linux operating systems and experience with ssh, monitoring processes, attaching storage, cleaning disk space, tailing logs, etc.
- Proficient understanding of Git source code repository.
Preferred Technical and Professional Experience
- Familiar with issue tracking systems (Jira, GitHub, Azure DevOps Boards, etc.)
- Familiar with programming languages such as JavaScript, Java, Scala, Golang
- Familiar software build tools (e.g., Gradle, Maven, Gulp)
- Familiar with relational databases (e.g., Oracle, DB2, MySQL/MariaDB, Postgres, etc.) as well as NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB, Elasticsearch, etc.)
- Familiarity with fundamentals of networking
- Familiar with developing solutions requiring internationalization and localization.
