Job Description: Automation Engineer II (Controls & Systems)

We are looking for an Automation Engineer who will be responsible for delivering automation and control system engineering work from design to commissioning. This role involves developing PLC, HMI, and SCADA applications, designing control system architecture, supporting testing and start-up activities, and preparing technical documentation for project handover.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, test, and maintain PLC programs, HMI screens, and SCADA applications.
  • Design control system architecture, integration approach, and industrial communication networks.
  • Support project execution from engineering design, testing, commissioning, and handover.
  • Conduct FAT/SAT, site commissioning, troubleshooting, and start-up support.
  • Diagnose automation, instrumentation, and network issues and implement corrective actions.
  • Prepare and maintain engineering documents such as as-built drawings, test reports, configuration records, and handover files.
  • Coordinate with clients, vendors, and internal teams to clarify requirements and resolve technical concerns.
  • Support continuous improvement through reusable tools, templates, standards, and lessons learned.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to junior engineers when needed.


Working Conditions:

  • May require travel and on-site work for testing, commissioning, and client support.
  • May involve time-sensitive troubleshooting during installation and start-up activities.


Qualifications: Automation Engineer (Controls & Systems)

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Instrumentation & Control, Mechatronics, or a related field.
  • At least 3 years of experience in industrial automation, control systems, or systems integration.
  • Hands-on experience in PLC programming, HMI development, and SCADA systems.
  • Knowledge of industrial networks and communication protocols such as Ethernet/IP, Modbus, Profibus/Profinet, or similar.
  • Experience in FAT/SAT, commissioning, start-up support, and troubleshooting.
  • Able to read and interpret electrical drawings, control diagrams, P&ID, and technical specifications.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and root cause analysis skills.
  • Good communication and coordination skills with clients, vendors, and internal teams.
  • Able to work independently and manage assigned tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Willing to travel and work on-site as required by project needs.
  • Professional license or certifications related to automation or control systems are an advantage.
