Automation Engineer
Summary
Maintains and troubleshoots industrial automation systems, robotics, and control software to keep production lines running efficiently and defect-free.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure all production machines and automation systems are in optimal working condition to support smooth, defect-free operations.
- To validate system performance, reliability, and functionality.
- Identify and resolve bugs or inefficiencies in both hardware and software systems.
- Perform on-site troubleshooting and root cause analysis for machine and system issues; escalate to suppliers and collaborate for remote support when necessary.
- Oversee the installation, integration, and setup of automation solutions — including robotics, control systems, and software — to ensure efficient process flow and minimal downtime.
- Support New Product Introduction (NPI) activities by providing automation expertise for seamless implementation and issue-free ramp-up.
- Ensure machines and automation systems consistently meet targeted UPH (Units Per Hour), cycle time, and quality standards.
- Provide ongoing maintenance, preventive upkeep, and technical support for automated equipment and systems.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams — including production, quality, engineering, and project management — to define requirements, implement solutions, and drive continuous improvement.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation, including system designs, troubleshooting guides, test plans, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
Requirements:
- Diploma or Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronics, or related Engineering discipline.
- Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in manufacturing or industrial automation.
- Strong technical proficiency in:
- Automation & Testing Tools: Experience with automation frameworks and test systems.
- System Integration: Familiarity with robotics, sensors, and networking technologies.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently under minimal supervision.
- Strong project management, documentation, and communication skills.
- A detail-oriented mindset with a focus on quality, efficiency, and continuous improvement.
- Ability to work effectively with customers, headquarters/factory teams, peers, and management.
- Professional certifications in automation or control systems will be an added advantage.
