Automation Engineer (m/f/d)
What to expect
- You own our native mobile end-to-end test automation stack (Maestro, iOS and Android), taking ownership of architecture, conventions, and suite health. You keep the suite small, deterministic, and cross-platform, because a reliable smoke and regression suite beats a large, flaky one.
- You design and operate AI-driven test workflows where agents generate Maestro flows from specs and test cases (TestRail, Confluence), self-heal selectors, and triage failures. You review and harden everything the agents produce.
- You drive testability into the product and build deterministic test foundations through stubbing, fixtures, and contract tests.
- You own our CI quality gates (Jenkins, GitHub Actions) and define where the test-pyramid boundary sits.
- You review and elevate the work of our developers and manual QA, coaching them on writing testable code and on reviewing AI-generated tests.
- You extend automation to our web stack (Playwright, Angular) where it adds value, always keeping the overall suite lean and reliable.
Your background
- You have 5+ years in test automation or SDET roles, with at least two of them owning test infrastructure (frameworks, CI, environments, test data), not just authoring suites.
- You have delivered native mobile end-to-end automation on real projects (Maestro, Appium, XCUITest, or Espresso) and can explain the flakiness trade-offs between them.
- You bring developer-level scripting and programming ability (Kotlin, Swift, TypeScript, or Python) and read app code to add testability hooks yourself.
- You have hands-on experience with LLM and agent tooling (Claude Code, Copilot, or similar) in a testing workflow, or credible evidence that you will adopt it fast. This is core to the role, not a nice-to-have.
- You have a clear stance on test-data determinism through stubbing, fixtures, and contract tests, and you have a proven track record of eliminating flakiness and keeping suites deterministic.
- You ideally bring experience in CI/CD pipeline ownership (including device farms and simulators), web E2E with Playwright, white-label or multi-tenant product experience, visual and snapshot regression testing, and TestRail integration and reporting.
- You communicate clearly in English and collaborate well with Product Owners and cross-functional teams.
