Summary
Hybrid, 6-month Inside IR35 contract in Birmingham for an SC-cleared Automation & Platform Engineer. The role upgrades and administers enterprise applications across Windows and Linux, automates operations with PowerShell, Bash, Python and Ansible, and builds CI/CD pipelines while promoting IaC and DevOps practices.

Requirements:- Strong experience administering enterprise applications on both Windows and Linux
- Experience delivering application and platform upgrades in production environments
- Experience with scripting and automation using PowerShell, Bash, Python or similar tools
- Experience with configuration management tools such as Ansible
- Experience with application servers, middleware and databases
- Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills
- Plan, coordinate and deliver application upgrades, migrations and platform refresh activities
- Ensure applications remain compliant with vendor support and security requirements
- Administer applications deployed across Windows and Linux environments
- Troubleshoot application, middleware and infrastructure issues
- Maintain operational documentation and runbooks
- Identify opportunities to automate manual operational processes
- Develop automation using PowerShell, Bash, Python, Ansible or similar tools
- Build and maintain CI/CD deployment pipelines
