Automation QA Engineer
NewBe an early applicantSummary
Designs and builds the automated testing infrastructure for slot game development: C# test suites for game logic and math models, OpenCV-based visual validation, and AI/ML anomaly detection, all wired into CI/CD pipelines to support regulatory certification (GLI/BMM). Requires 5+ years of QA automation with hands-on C#. 100% remote or from a global office.
JOB OVERVIEW
Plan A Technologies is looking for a Automation QA Engineer. In this position you will be responsible for designing and building the automated testing infrastructure that ensures the quality, compliance, and performance of slot game development. This role combines expertise in C# development, computer vision, and AI-assisted testing to automate validation across game logic, visual rendering, and math models, while partnering closely with QA, game development, and engineering teams throughout the game lifecycle.
Please note: you must have at least 5 years of experience in QA automation, with hands-on expertise in C# to be considered for this role.
JOB RESPONSIBILITY
Develop and maintain C# automation suites validating game logic, paytables, reel math, bonus triggers, and payout calculations against certified specs.
Build CV-based systems (OpenCV or similar) to visually verify screen rendering, symbol placement, animations, and on-screen game state — including hardware/cabinet testing where API access is limited.
Develop test harnesses that interface with game engines and firmware to inject test conditions and capture internal state for regulatory certification (GLI, BMM, etc.).
Create AI/ML tools that detect visual anomalies (glitches, misrenders) and statistical anomalies (RNG/RTP deviations), accelerating regression detection beyond manual QA.
Integrate automated visual, logic, and compliance tests into build pipelines, ensuring every release is validated before reaching QA or regulators.
Other projects and duties as assigned by the manager.
EXPERIENCE
Minimum of 5 years of experience in QA automation, with hands-on expertise in C# (nice to have: C/C++ development).
Proven experience building computer vision-based testing tools (OpenCV or similar) for visual regression and screen-state validation.
Solid understanding of slot machine/gaming domain concepts (RNG, RTP, paytables, reel math, bonus mechanics) and regulatory standards (GLI, BMM, or similar).
Practical experience applying AI/ML techniques to testing, such as anomaly detection or automated test generation.
Demonstrated experience designing and maintaining automated test pipelines integrated into CI/CD systems (Jenkins, Azure DevOps, GitLab CI, or similar). ,
Knowledge of the casino gaming industry (slot machines, table games, or iGaming)
Experience with Unity or other game engines.
Familiarity with regulatory/compliance testing standards (GLI, BMM, or similar).
Active GitHub profile showcasing personal or open-source projects demonstrating C# development and computer vision applications.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Ability to balance quality, speed and regulatory constraints.
Excellent verbal and written English communication skills.
Initiative and drive to do great things.
