Automation QA Engineer
Summary
Build and maintain automated tests for a large retailer’s microservices system using Playwright/Cypress, integrate tests into CI/CD, and apply AI tools to improve test design and execution.
Svitla Systems Inc. is looking for an AQA Engineer for a full-time hybrid position (40 hours per week) in Poland. Our client is one of the world's largest food retailers.
As an AQA Engineer, you’ll be a key contributor to defining and implementing the quality and automation foundations for a distributed, microservices-based system. You’ll collaborate closely with engineers and product teams, ensuring quality is built in from the earliest stages.
Hybrid mode with 3 days per week working from the office in Kraków.
Requirements
Solid understanding of QA methodologies, with hands-on experience in frontend, backend and API testing.
Hands-on experience with test automation frameworks like Playwright / Cypress (ideally with Playwright+TS, alternatively Cypress+TS).
Practical experience in applying AI tools to testing, automation, and SDLC optimization.
Experience testing microservices-based systems.
Practical knowledge of HTTP, RESTful APIs.
Experience working with CI/CD pipelines, preferably GitHub Actions.
The ability to quickly learn and understand business requirements and the domain.
Nice to Have
Experience with performance testing.
Experience setting up or maintaining test environments.
Basic cloud knowledge (Azure / AWS).
Familiarity with service mocking.
Responsibilities
Collaborate early in a cross-functional team with engineers, other QAs and business to influence requirements and define effective test strategies.
Design, develop, and maintain automated tests for UI and end-to-end flows.
Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions).
Actively apply AI-supported tools to improve test design, execution, and maintenance.
Produce clear test reports and participate in test automation code reviews.
Manage test cases and test cycles (Jira Zephyr).
