Our client is an innovation company building automation software, they operate in NZ, US and Europe.

Opportunity exists for an experienced Software Engineer to join our team for a 3-month contract role in Wellington.

You'll develop software where quality, security, and compliance are built in from day one. You'll work across Structured Text (ST) and TypeScript, ISO standards, and collaborate with a global team of highly skilled engineers.

What you'll do:

• Build robust automation software using Structured Text and TypeScript with rigorous focus on reliability
• Own code quality through Test-Driven Development (TDD) and continuous refactoring
• Navigate regulated environments while staying agile
• Implement software verification & validation to industry standards
• Apply DevOps practices using GitHub and GitHub Actions
• Collaborate across time zones with cross-functional teams
• Work in 2-week Scrum sprints

Who you are:

• 3+ years software development in regulated industries
• Experience in an ISO Environment
• Strong coding in Structured Text (ST) and TypeScript
• Deep experience with TDD, pair programming, CI/CD workflows
• Understanding of software verification & validation processes
• DevOps mindset and Scrum experience
• Excellent problem-solver with strong communication skills
