We are looking for a Senior Quality Engineer to join an Automation QA Squad. In this role, you will work closely with cross-functional teams while serving as a member of the Automation QA Squad, supporting delivery teams with automation expertise, automated test development, and the effective use of AI tools. The ideal candidate is strongly driven to expand automation capabilities and contribute to the successful achievement of automation objectives across projects.

About the Position
As an Automation Squad - Senior Quality Engineer, you will play a key role in strengthening quality engineering practices by combining:
- Manual and automation testing expertise
- Automation leadership and enablement
You will help establish scalable quality processes, improve automation coverage, support delivery teams with quality challenges, promote engineering best practices across multiple projects, and accelerate automation adoption across the organization.
This role is based on a hybrid work model, with 3 days per week in our Sofia office.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive test automation adoption and quality engineering improvements across teams
- Develop, optimize, and maintain automated test frameworks and test suites
- Transform manual test scenarios into maintainable automated solutions
- Integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines to enable faster and safer releases
- Create and execute testing strategies covering functional, integration, API, and end-to-end testing
- Evaluate and promote the effective use of AI-assisted tools and practices to improve testing efficiency, quality insights, and team productivity
- Identify opportunities to utilize AI-powered solutions for test design, test automation, defect analysis, and quality reporting
- Investigate defects, analyze root causes, and ensure effective issue tracking and reporting
- Collaborate with developers, product owners, and stakeholders to build quality into every stage of the development lifecycle
- Assess testing risks, identify gaps, and recommend improvements to products and processes
- Contribute to quality standards, engineering best practices, and continuous process optimization
- Facilitate knowledge-sharing sessions, workshops, and automation communities of practice
- Promote a culture of quality excellence and continuous learning
Required Qualifications
- Solid experience in software quality assurance and quality engineering
- Strong background in both manual testing and test automation
- Practical experience designing and implementing test automation frameworks
- Hands-on experience with modern automation tools such as Playwright, Selenium, Cypress, or similar
- Experience with JavaScript, TypeScript, or Java
- Experience testing both user interfaces and APIs
- Good understanding of modern software development practices and CI/CD pipelines
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Experience creating test strategies, test plans, quality metrics, and quality reports
- Passion for modern quality engineering practices, test automation, AI-assisted engineering tools, and continuous improvement
- Ability to work independently and take ownership of quality initiatives
- Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
- Fluent written and spoken English
- Experience working within distributed and international teams

- Experience coaching teams on test automation best practices
- Experience establishing automation frameworks and quality standards across multiple projects
- Experience facilitating knowledge-sharing sessions, workshops, or communities of practice
- Experience using AI-powered productivity, testing, or development tools
- Knowledge of AI-assisted test generation, defect analysis, or quality reporting solutions
- Experience with Jira, Xray, Confluence, BrowserStack, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, or similar platforms
- Mobile testing experience, including Appium or cross-device testing
- Experience leading quality initiatives within Agile teams
- Passion for continuous learning and technology innovation
