Automation Technician – Molding / Assembly
Job Summary
We are seeking an Automation Technician with experience supporting molding or assembly automation equipment in a manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will troubleshoot, maintain, and optimize robotic and automated production systems to ensure maximum equipment uptime, efficiency, and product quality in a medical device manufacturing facility.
Key Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot and repair molding or assembly automation equipment.
- Maintain industrial robots, conveyors, sensors, vision systems, and auxiliary automation equipment.
- Program and optimize robots such as FANUC, Sepro, Yushin, or Wittmann.
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on automation systems.
- Support production startups, mold trials, and new product introductions.
- Improve equipment performance, cycle time, and overall productivity.
- Read and interpret electrical, pneumatic, and mechanical schematics.
- Maintain maintenance records and automation documentation.
- Follow all safety, quality, FDA, GMP, and ISO requirements.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Technical certification or Associate degree in Automation, Robotics, Mechatronics, or a related field is preferred.
- 2–5 years of experience in injection molding, assembly automation, or a manufacturing environment.
- Hands-on experience troubleshooting and maintaining industrial robots and automated equipment.
- Knowledge of PLCs, HMIs, industrial sensors, and automation systems.
- Experience with End-of-Arm Tooling (EOAT) is preferred.
- Strong troubleshooting, mechanical, electrical, and communication skills.
Shift Timings:
Buffalo Grove
- 6:00 AM – 6:00 PM (12-hour Day Shift)
- 6:00 PM – 6:00 AM (12-hour Night Shift)
Libertyville
- 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
