Wisemen is hiring an Automation Test Engineer in Chamblee, GA to test a highly secure financial transaction system for a government agency (IRS) as part of an Agile dev/test team. Day-to-day work spans manual and automated testing using Playwright, TestNG, JUnit, Cucumber, JavaScript, and API/performance testing, plus CI/CD integration.
Job Description:
Wisemen is looking for an Automation Test Engineer to provide testing support as a member of an integrated Agile project development and Testing team. They will be working with other developers and testers to test custom-developed software as required.
The Tester will be responsible for providing input to project release plans that cover project inception through delivery and ongoing operational maintenance. They will be expected to analyze and solve complex testing-related problems and review other developers' and testers' work products for correctness, adherence to the project design concept, and compliance with user standards.
The Tester will play a key role in a highly secure system for a government agency. To be successful in this role, the Tester should be self-motivated and passionate about solving technical problems. The system facilitates high-value financial transactions over the Internet. Experience with payment systems, trading systems, or other highly secure transactional systems would be highly valuable.
IMPORTANT TO NOTE:
Hands-on experience with Playwright Automation, TestNG, JUnit, Cucumber, Framework creation, JavaScript coding, and API testing is key.
Job Responsibilities:
- Analyzing complex requirements and design documents to develop detailed step-by-step manual test cases.
- Executing manual test cases; documenting actual results during execution; reviewing the test results and reporting anomalies (if any) into the defect tracking database.
- Developing new automation scripts and updating existing ones to support newly added functionality.
- Executing automated test scripts; reporting execution results and identifying unsuccessful execution (if any).
- Executing Load/Performance testing by running the load test scripts and generating the load test execution results reports.
- Tracking the defects from creation to closure; documenting detailed descriptions of the defect and working with developers to reproduce.
- Deploying software to test environments and monitoring server logs during testing to identify errors and/or unexpected log entries.
- Participating in and/or facilitating test case peer review meetings and providing feedback; ensuring that the developed test cases meet client requirements and test conditions; and verifying the requested functionality.
- Assisting the test lead with the release test plan, generating RTM, maintaining the regression test database, and creating test reports at the end of each testing phase.
- Assisting the Test Leads in performing an internal quality assurance check on all deliverables to ensure they are complete, accurate, and adhere to the client's standards.
- Integrate automated tests into the CI/CD pipeline to enable continuous testing and delivery.
- Collaborate with DevOps to ensure seamless automation within the build and deployment processes.
- Ensure comprehensive test coverage through automated test cases.
- Aiding business analysts with business/functional requirements and developers with technical requirements.
Required Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field (or 4 years of experience in lieu of degree).
Skills and Experience:
- 5+ years total IT experience, primarily as a Software Test Engineer.
- 3+ years of experience as an Automation Test Engineer.
- Proven experience as an SDET, QA Engineer, or in a similar role with a focus on test automation.
- Hands-on experience with Playwright Automation, TestNG, JUnit, Cucumber, Framework creation, JavaScript coding, and API testing experience.
- Strong knowledge of Software Testing Lifecycle/Testing Methodologies.
- Ability to analyze complex requirements and design documents to create detailed test cases and scripts.
- Expertise in executing test cases and documenting actual results, identifying software defects, and creating test reports.
- Experience in Quality Center or similar test management tools.
- Experience in Unified Functional Testing tool or similar automation scripting tools like Selenium.
- Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts and frameworks for functional, regression, and performance testing.
- Basic Knowledge of Structured Query Language (SQL).
- Experience with configuration management and version control tools such as Atlassian suite, JIRA, and/or Subversion.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to work productively in a dynamic, priority-shifting, deadline-driven environment.
- Excellent organizational, presentation, and business analysis skills.
- Knowledge of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Basic knowledge of LoadRunner.
- Basic knowledge of VB Scripting.
- Experience in creating/editing technical documents and user manuals for new/upgraded software.
Candidate Selection Criteria:
Besides the skill set and experience, the following are the primary requirements for candidate selection, without which the candidate(s) cannot be considered for the position:
Required:
- Candidate must be a U.S. citizen or a Permanent Resident Alien (Green Card holder and NOT an H-1 B visa holder).
- Candidate must have the ability to obtain an IRS MBI (Minimum Background Investigation) Security Clearance from the Federal Agency.
- The candidate should pass the Wisemen screening/selection process.
Preferred:
- Active IRS MBI Clearance is highly desirable.
- Candidate(s) coming out of another IRS project with an IRS Laptop/badge will help accelerate the onboarding process.
