Job Description

Jim Bass Ford is seeking a skilled Automotive Body Shop Technician to join our busy collision team. We are looking for a professional who specializes in structural and cosmetic repairs, ensuring every vehicle is returned to the customer in pristine condition.

This is a role for a technician who takes pride in "Fixed Right First Time" quality. You will be responsible for everything from minor dent repairs to major structural restoration. We offer a high-volume shop with consistent insurance and customer-pay work to keep your rack full and your hours high.

Pay:

$100,000+

  • Commission pay structure based on experience and ability. Total compensation will be based on employees ability/output.

Work Requirements

  • Experience: 3 to 4 years of professional body shop experience is highly preferred, but we will consider the right individual with less experience who demonstrates a high level of aptitude and a willingness to learn.

  • Driver’s License: Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record is required.

  • Tools: Ownership of a professional set of body shop tools.

  • Ability to pass a background check and drug screening.

Responsibilities

  • Structural Repair: Restore vehicle frames and body structures to manufacturer specifications using specialized alignment equipment.

  • Panel & Body Work: Replace or repair damaged body panels, doors, and trim pieces with precision.

  • Diagnostic Accuracy: Assess vehicle damage and follow detailed repair orders to ensure all safety and aesthetic standards are met.

  • Welding & Fabrication: Utilize appropriate welding techniques (MIG, Resistance, etc.) for high-strength steel and aluminum repairs.

  • Collaboration: Work closely with Body Shop Estimators and Parts Department to ensure timely completion of repairs.

  • Quality Assurance: Perform final inspections on your work to ensure it meets the Jim Bass Ford standard of excellence before moving to the paint department.

Qualifications

  • Proven track record of high-quality collision repair work.

  • Strong attention to detail and a "perfectionist" mindset regarding vehicle aesthetics.

  • Ability to work efficiently in a high-volume, flat-rate environment.

  • I-CAR or ASE certifications are a major plus.

  • Professional attitude and a commitment to shop safety and cleanliness.
