Automotive Cybersecurity Validation Engineer

Salary: £52,000 - 62,400 per year

Requirements:
  • Minimum 10 years of professional experience in automotive cybersecurity verification, validation, testing, or a closely related field.
  • Strong knowledge of automotive cybersecurity concepts and technologies.
  • Proven hands-on experience with Secure Boot, Secure Download, SecOC, and Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS).
  • Extensive experience in cybersecurity test case development, automation, and execution.
  • Strong debugging, defect analysis, and root cause investigation skills.
  • Good understanding of AUTOSAR Classic Architecture and related software stacks.
  • Experience with UDS (Unified Diagnostic Services) validation and automotive diagnostics testing.
  • Strong proficiency in C programming.
  • Good understanding of automotive communication protocols, particularly CAN and Ethernet.
  • Experience working with ECU and vehicle-level verification and validation activities.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and technical documentation skills.
  • Experience with Vector CANoe, Trace32, Wireshark, Corvus, Microsoft Visual Studio, GitLab, and JIRA is highly desirable.
  • Right to work in the UK.
  • UK work authorisation preferred.
  • System Engineer - Vehicle Health Management: 10 years preferred.
Responsibilities:
  • Verify and validate automotive cybersecurity features, including Secure Boot, Secure Download, Secure On-Board Communication (SecOC), and Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS).
  • Develop, review, and execute cybersecurity test strategies and test cases.
  • Develop and execute automated test scripts.
  • Perform verification and validation activities for cybersecurity modules across ECU and vehicle platforms.
  • Analyse test results, identify defects, and perform root cause analysis.
  • Support defect investigation and issue resolution.
  • Review system requirements and maintain requirements traceability using relevant tools.
  • Support integration, system, regression, and end-to-end validation activities.
  • Prepare validation reports, defect reports, and technical documentation.
  • Participate in architecture and design reviews from a cybersecurity validation perspective.
  • Validate automotive communication protocols, including CAN, LIN, FlexRay, and Ethernet.

We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Automotive Cybersecurity Validation Engineer to support the verification and validation of cybersecurity features across Electronic Control Units (ECUs) and vehicle network architectures. The successful candidate will play a key role in validating cybersecurity solutions across ECU and vehicle platforms. We offer a pay rate of £25.00-£30.00 per hour, along with life insurance and on-site parking. The role is based in person.
