Arlington Heights Ford is seeking an experienced Ford Diesel Technician / Automotive Diesel Technician to join our growing Ford Pro Elite Commercial Service Center.
If you have experience repairing diesel trucks, Ford vehicles, commercial vehicles or fleet vehicles and you’re looking for a busy shop, strong earning potential and a modern facility built for commercial service, we want to talk with you.
Our Ford Pro operation isn’t simply a few diesel bays inside a traditional dealership. You’ll be working in an 85,000-square-foot commercial service facility designed to handle Ford trucks, commercial vehicles and fleet customers.
Responsibilities include:
- Diagnose diesel engine, electrical, mechanical and drivability concerns
- Perform diesel engine repairs, maintenance and service
- Service Ford trucks, commercial vehicles and fleet vehicles
- Review repair orders and determine proper diagnostic and repair procedures
- Perform vehicle inspections and identify needed repairs
- Test-drive vehicles when appropriate to verify concerns and completed repairs
- Complete Ford warranty repairs in accordance with manufacturer policies
- Accurately document diagnostic findings, repairs and labor operations
- Stay current with Ford technical service bulletins, training and repair procedures
- Work closely with service advisors, parts personnel and fellow technicians
- Maintain a clean, professional and safe work environment
- Follow dealership, manufacturer and workplace safety procedure,

Required:
- Previous automotive, diesel, fleet or commercial vehicle repair experience
- Strong mechanical and diagnostic skills
- Valid driver’s license
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Professional automotive technician tools
- Ability to work effectively in a busy service environment
- Dependable, professional and focused on quality repairs
Preferred:
- Ford dealership experience
- Ford diesel training or certifications
- ASE certifications
- Ford Senior Master or Master Technician credentials
- Commercial truck or fleet repair experience
- Diesel engine diagnostic experience
- CDL
