Daily Operating Rhythm
Your day as Automotive General Sales Manager starts by scanning prior-day results and current trend lines, then moving into brief touchpoints with the new and used leadership teams to confirm priorities and remove blockers. You’ll spend focused time balancing inventory mix and turn, checking that pricing and merchandising presentation support the month’s targets.
Midday often includes reviewing deal flow and exception items, validating that documentation and approvals are clean before posting, and pressure-testing assumptions behind the forecast. You’ll also carve out time to look outward—monitoring local market activity and adjusting promotional timing to stay competitive.
Late afternoon is typically reserved for coaching conversations and structured training moments, plus stepping in on escalated customer situations to reach a timely, professional resolution. You close out by aligning next-day actions to break-even awareness and department performance.
