Automotive Smog Technician
Job Overview
Monarch Ford is seeking a skilled Automotive Smog Technician to join our service team. This position is responsible for performing smog inspections, emissions testing, and related repairs on cars and light trucks. Ideal candidates will have hands-on mechanical experience and a valid smog license. This is a full-time opportunity with bonus potential and competitive benefits.

Key Responsibilities

Conduct smog inspections in compliance with state regulations

Diagnose and repair emissions-related issues on vehicles

Use computerized diagnostic equipment and hand tools

Maintain equipment calibration for accurate testing

Interpret data and technical documents

Complete written work orders and service reports accurately

Communicate effectively with customers and team members

Assist with scheduling and organizing workflow in the shop
Qualifications

Valid Smog Technician License (required)

Ford or equivalent OEM certifications are a plus

Strong problem-solving and diagnostic abilities

Manual dexterity and mechanical aptitude

Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and repair guides

Customer service skills and a professional attitude

Ability to work independently and as part of a team

High school diploma or equivalent preferred
