Position Overview
The Automotive Technician / Mechanic performs customer-requested maintenance and repairs with accuracy, efficiency, and strong quality control. You’ll perform preventative maintenance, and ensure vehicles are returned to customers in safe, reliable condition. A willingness to advance and learn diagnostic skills.
This position offers excellent opportunities for career advancement, including pathways to become a Master Technician or move into shop leadership roles with continued training and experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform inspections, maintenance, and repairs on all makes and models
- Conduct services such as brakes, suspension, steering and HVAC
- Execute high-quality repairs efficiently and accurately while following company procedures
- Communicate clearly with service advisors and team members regarding vehicle needs
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment
- Ensure all repairs meet safety and quality standards
- Follow company policies and manufacturer guidelines for all work performed
Schedule
- Full-time position
- Monday through Friday, 8 to 5 Sat 8 to 2 up to 48.5 hrs a week with availability for occasional weekends as needed day off approved with 2 weeks notice
Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year of experience in a professional automotive shop environment
- At least 1 ASE certification preferred (not required)
- Section 609 EPA Certification for automotive HVAC (required or must obtain within 6 months)
- Strong mechanical aptitude
- Must provide personal hand and specialty tools
- Valid TN driver’s license and clean driving record
- Must be 18 years or older and able to lift 50 lbs.
- Team player with a positive attitude and commitment to learning
- Reliable transportation to commute to Knoxville, TN
