Automotive Traveling Detail Manager
Xcite Automotive is seeking an Automotive Traveling Detail Manager to support the launch of new dealership locations across the United States.
Job Description : As an Automotive Traveling Detail Manager provides hands-on operational leadership, training, quality control, and performance support across multiple automotive detailing locations. This role travels to assigned dealerships and markets to support new business launches, improve location performance, train employees and managers, maintain company standards, and drive quality, productivity, safety, and customer service.
The ideal candidate is an experienced automotive detailing leader who can quickly assess operational needs, coach teams, solve problems, and adapt to different locations while traveling frequently.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide hands-on operational leadership across multiple automotive detailing locations.
- Travel to assigned dealerships to support daily operations, staffing, workflow, and production.
- Support new location launches, transitions, and special projects.
- Lead, coach, and train Detailers, Assistant Managers, and Managers.
- Establish and reinforce company standards for detailing, quality, safety, and customer service.
- Perform vehicle inspections and address quality, rework, and damage concerns.
- Monitor production, vehicle flow, turnaround times, labor efficiency, and team productivity.
- Identify performance gaps and implement action plans to improve results.
- Provide hands-on detailing support when operationally needed.
- Partner with dealership management to resolve operational and service concerns.
- Communicate location performance, staffing needs, and operational issues to leadership.
- Support employee development, onboarding, and performance accountability.
- Ensure safe use of chemicals, PPE, tools, equipment, and vehicles.
- Help improve consistency and overall performance across assigned locations.
Must-Have Qualifications
- 3+ years of hands-on automotive detailing or reconditioning experience.
- Proven leadership or supervisory experience in an automotive or detailing environment.
- Strong knowledge of automotive detailing processes, products, equipment, and quality standards.
- Ability to train, coach, and provide direction to detailing teams.
- Ability to perform hands-on detailing work when needed.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and adapt quickly to different locations and teams.
- Willingness and ability to travel extensively, including overnight travel.
- Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
- Ability to work indoors and outdoors and perform the physical requirements of the position, including lifting up to 50 lbs.

- Experience managing or supporting multiple automotive detailing locations.
- Automotive shop, reconditioning, or dealership management experience.
- Experience supporting new location launches, transitions, or operational turnarounds.
- Experience working directly with dealership management or automotive partners.
- Experience with production, labor efficiency, quality, or other operational performance metrics.
- Experience training and developing Managers or Assistant Managers.
- Experience with hiring, onboarding, and team development.
- Basic experience with operational reporting, email, and computer systems.
