AV Engineering Manager

Salary: £31,000 - 71,000 per year

Requirements:
  • We have 5-7 years of experience in AV operations.
  • We have 2-3 years of experience leading or supervising AV engineering teams within a corporate or enterprise environment.
  • We have advanced troubleshooting and problem-solving skills across enterprise AV systems.
  • We have experience managing AV support across multiple UK sites.
  • We have industry certifications such as CTS, CTS-D, CTS-I, Crestron, Extron, Q-SYS, or equivalent, which are highly desirable.
  • We have strong knowledge of AV control platforms including Crestron, Extron, AMX, and Q-SYS.
  • We have expert understanding of Microsoft Teams Rooms, Zoom Rooms, Cisco Webex, and Google Meet hardware.
  • We have advanced knowledge of DSPs including Biamp, Q-SYS, and Shure.
  • We have experience supporting microphones, mixers, amplifiers, and professional audio systems.
  • We have knowledge of LED walls, projectors, LCD displays, and interactive displays.
  • We have experience supporting digital signage platforms.
  • We have understanding of live streaming, recording, and content distribution technologies.
  • We have strong understanding of AV over IP technologies including Dante, NDI, SDVoE, and HDBaseT.
  • We have good understanding of TCP/IP, VLANs, DHCP, DNS, and QoS as they relate to AV systems.
  • We have experience using AV monitoring platforms such as Logitech Sync, Crestron XiO Cloud, and Extron GlobalViewer Enterprise.
  • We have experience using ITSM platforms such as ServiceNow.
  • We have strong leadership and people management abilities.
  • We have experience mentoring and coaching technical teams.
  • We have excellent workload and resource management skills.
  • We have strong project management capability.
  • We have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • We have the ability to communicate effectively with clients, senior stakeholders, IT teams, and third-party vendors.
  • We have strong analytical and decision-making skills.

Responsibilities:
  • We support the Client AV Manager, who holds overall responsibility for UK Audio Visual operational services.
  • We act as a key point of contact, ensuring effective communication between operational teams and senior management.
  • We implement governance, processes, and operational standards across the AV team.
  • We maintain consistency across service delivery.
  • We drive accountability and continuous improvement.
  • We uphold high standards across all aspects of the AV service.
  • We resolve complex, high-priority AV incidents, acting as the technical escalation point for the team.
  • We manage and coordinate AV support across multiple UK sites.
  • We provide technical leadership and guidance to engineers, assisting with complex troubleshooting and fault resolution.
  • We plan, execute, and verify software, firmware, and system updates across AV devices and platforms.
  • We carry out root cause analysis for recurring and complex AV issues.
  • We coach, mentor, and develop team members, encouraging continuous professional development.
  • We set clear expectations, monitor performance, and conduct regular performance reviews.
  • We motivate and engage the team to maintain high morale and productivity.
  • We delegate and prioritise workload to ensure efficient incident resolution and service delivery.
  • We manage operational requests using structured project management methodologies, including planning, implementation, delivery, and reporting.
  • We identify opportunities to improve the clients AV service through new technologies, operational efficiencies, and service enhancements.
