AV Remote Operator (1-Year)

Summary

Monitor and remotely operate autonomous vehicles in real-time, intervening during complex scenarios and logging incidents using specialized dashboards and control interfaces.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Remotely monitor autonomous vehicle operations in real-time using specialized software, dashboards, and control interfaces
  • Intervene remotely to assist vehicles in complex or unexpected scenarios
  • Log incidents, anomalies, and performance metrics for continuous improvement
  • Follow safety protocols and escalation procedures during emergencies or system failures
  • Conduct system checks to ensure remote interfaces and monitoring tools are functioning correctly before and during operations
  • Communicate effectively with field teams, support staff, and engineering teams to resolve operational issues and coordinate interventions
  • Maintain detailed records of interventions, system alerts, and operator actions for audit and analysis purposes
  • Perform any ad hoc duties assigned

Job Requirements (add rows where required)

  • A valid Class 3 driving license
  • Minimum 3 years of driving experience
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in operating multiple software applications simultaneously in a fast-paced or mission-critical environment
  • Strong multi-tasking, situational awareness, and decision-making abilities under pressure
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Tech-savvy with the ability to quickly learn and operate new systems and interfaces related to autonomous vehicle technology
  • Prior experience in remote operations, dispatch, or control room environments is a plus
  • Willing to work rotating shifts, including weekends and public holidays.
