AV Support Specialist - 199147
The Audio-visual support specialist will provide Pace University students, faculty, administrators, staff and guests with excellent presentation and educational technology support. Working with clients to assess their needs, the Audio-visual support specialist will recommend and implement best solutions and coordinate delivery of those solutions to classrooms, meeting rooms and presentation venues.
Position Duties
- Audio visual set up, operate, maintain, and repair equipment used to enhance classroom technology and live events.
- Record meetings and presentations, adjust AV equipment, coordinate student workers and provide technical support for videoconferences, webinars/web conferences and distance-learning classes.
- Edit, copy and store recorded videos and work with student workers to coordinate schedules for office coverage.
- Assistance with the implementation of new technologies, equipment, and training related to video conferencing and audio/visual services campus wide.
- Perform service tasks in a timely and quality conscious manner such as pulling cable, install connectors, projector mounting / hanging (ceiling mounts) etc.
- Suggest new ideas and programs to enhance staff/faculty and student experience along with implementing them.
- Troubleshoot complex AV systems using networked AV devices and manufacturer specific software to diagnose and resolve issues.
- Performs other such duties as may be assigned from time to time.
Supervision Exercised
The person will be responsible for managing projects that span multiple campuses. They will oversee the daily queue for the Educational Media queue. The person will also provide training, and managing student employees within the Educational Media office.
Position Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or imminent (working towards) preferred.
- A minimum of one-year experience working with audio, projection and videoconferencing systems required.
- Demonstrated ability to work with university students, faculty and staff.
- Must be able to transport, assemble, maintain and repair equipment used in multimedia production.
- Knowledge of camera and lighting techniques is a plus, and familiarity with editing equipment and software may be required.
- Must be proficient with MS Windows, MS Office and using web resources.
- Any Mac experience is a plus.
- Experience working in a multiple reporting environment and handling multiple projects simultaneously.
- Good understanding of the complexities and challenges of providing excellent customer service.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience with Crestron, Netgear, Biamp, Sennheiser are a plus.
Work Hours and Location:
Hours may vary from Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m. Additional hours may be required. Travel to other Pace University campuses on occasion will be requried. This position is an on-campus position and requires the employee to be on-campus during all working hours unless otherwise agreed to with their supervisor.
