Summary

AV Technician/Engineer builds, programs, and installs audio-visual systems for theme parks and attractions using electronics, embedded controllers, and automation tools.

Absolute FX provides audio visual technology, show control systems, special effects, show-action equipment, and other services to theme parks, science centers, musuems, visitor attractions, entertainment centers, exhibitions and various other installations. We are seeking a number of technicians and engineers who are keen on expanding their knowledge across many disciplines.

Qualifications and Experience

  • All levels of relevant qualifications will be considered, such as AV, audio, electronics, mechatronics or computer science.
  • Some experience in professional audio-visual, automation, electronics and/or mechatronics.
  • Soldering and crimping connectors, wire management, use of power tools.
  • Programming skills for embedded controllers, Crestron, Extron, etc.
  • Ability to read schematics and plans, understand technical terms
  • Drivers license, programming skills would be an advantage

Roles, Responsibilities & Requirements:

  • Building, assembling and wiring of audio visual & control systems, special effects and other equipment in our workshop, under the supervision of our senior engineer and technical director.
  • Programming skills for PLC's, embedded controllers and other systems would be required for an Engineer, but not essential for a technician. Knowledge of Windows, and installing applications required.
  • Work on-site to install, wire, test and hand over the equipment to the client. We will provide relevant training and safety equipment as required
  • Assist with deliveries, stock keeping, clean-up and general workshop tasks
  • On-site and workshop maintenance and call-outs
  • Able to undertake overseas travel occasionally, which may vary from a few days to several weeks
  • Moderate physical fitness is required. Tasks include lifting of equipment, climbing ladders/work platforms, accessing and working from catwalks, crawl spaces and much walking

Working location:

  • Office in Tagore Lane
  • Work throughout Singapore, with occasional overseas work

Working hours:

  • Normal working hours: 9:30am - 6pm Mondays to Fridays, with 1 hour lunch break
  • On occasions you may need to work evenings or night. Time off or overtime can be discussed.
