AVP, DevOps Engineer

Job Description: Seeking a DevOps Engineer with a minimum of 5+ years of technical experience in CI/CD pipelines, pipeline build issue resolution, and troubleshooting. Experienced in HCL AppScan Dynamic Application Security Testing (DAST), as well as ElasticSearch platform setup, Kibana dashboards, and visualizations. Passionate about driving automation, improving system reliability, and ensuring that systems and build/deployment pipelines remain stable and healthy.

You will be responsible for ensuring the reliability and availability of DevOps CI/CD pipeline systems. The primary responsibility is to provide first‑level support for DevOps issues related to code build, deployment, security scanning, and artifact storage. In the event of DevOps tool failures, you will perform root cause analysis and restore systems to a steady state as quickly as possible.

The role includes providing support for all DevOps deployments during weekdays and on a rotating weekend schedule.

Responsibilities

  • Providing technical expertise and experience in troubleshooting and supporting:
    • DevOps CI/CD tools and pipelines
    • Container platforms, Kubernetes, and OpenShift CI/CD build and deployment pipelines
    • HCL AppScan Dynamic Application Security Testing (DAST), including toolchains, pipelines, and the DAST platform
    • Elasticsearch platform, index management, and Kibana visualizations
    • Jenkins pipelines and Groovy scripts
  • Troubleshooting issues, performing deep root cause analysis (RCA), and resolving pipeline‑related problems
  • Writing code and scripts (Python) to automate DevOps processes, continuously identifying opportunities to reduce manual effort and repetitive tasks through innovation and automation
  • Supporting OS and DevOps application patching activities
  • Remediating DevOps infrastructure issues, including Control‑M jobs, backup jobs, BMC alerts, schedulers, cron jobs, and shell scripting tasks
  • Developing server‑side automation scripts using Unix/Linux shell (bash/cron) scripting
  • Collaborating with vendors for technical support, upgrades, and maintenance of DevOps tools

Must‑Have Requirements

  • Technical hands‑on script development, troubleshooting Groovy scripting, YAML for DevOps pipelines
  • Technical knowledge and experience on Containers, Kubernetes, OpenShift DevOps pipelines
  • Technical hands‑on knowledge in HCL Dynamic Application Security Testing (DAST) HCL AppScan
  • Technical hands‑on knowledge in Elastic Search platforms, Kibana graphs, Index Management
  • Technical hands‑on knowledge in platforms such as Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket, Jenkins, SonarQube, Artifactory, xRay

Debug and Issue Troubleshooting

  • Debug, troubleshooting, diagnose, and fix platform‑related issues for all build and deploy pipelines capabilities
  • Debug, troubleshooting, diagnose, and fix Groovy script issues (runtime build, deploy, scan, etc.)
  • Debug, troubleshooting, diagnose, and fix platform‑related issues for all DAST tools
  • Debug, troubleshooting, diagnose, and fix platform‑related issues for all ELK tools

Pipeline Development and Automation

  • Hands‑on experience in coding, developing, and maintaining CI/CD build, deploy pipelines
  • Deep technical experience in automation with Groovy scripts
  • Able to develop and enhance new automation scripts through Jenkins pipelines (Groovy scripts, APIs)
  • Deep technical experience in server‑side Unix/Linux shell scripting

Platform Tool Support

  • Prior working experience installing, configuring, integrating, upgrading and patching CI/CD toolset
  • Must be able to work in stretch example: off‑office hours support (weekends, holidays)
  • Support and maintain all DevOps platform tools uptime to meet SLA
  • Support DevOps pipeline issues (Build, Scan, Deploy, Run, Test) phases of DevOps

Good‑to‑Have

  • Technical knowledge of pipeline scripting (Groovy, YAML)
  • Technical knowledge and experience on Containers, Kubernetes, OpenShift DevOps pipelines
  • Technical hands‑on knowledge in HCL Dynamic Application Security Testing (DAST) HCL AppScan
  • Technical hands‑on knowledge in Elastic Search platforms, Kibana graphs, Index Management
